Canadian Excise Tax
Canadian Excise Tax
As of October 1, 2022, the Federal Government is placing a new tax on ALL Vape products containing E-Liquid that is manufactured after October 1. The products affected by excise tax include ALL E-Liquid, Pods, and Disposables. This unfortunately will mean higher prices for all Canadian Vape Consumers.
All new Vape liquid products manufactured after October 1st will be priced at the new Tax level, and have a Tax Sticker on those products. Consumers should expect to pay an extra $1 per 2mL on the first 10mL of e-liquid, plus $1 per additional 10mL. This works out to:
- $3 extra for a pack of STLTH brands of prefilled Pods
- $2 extra for a pack of VUSE prefilled ePods
- $3 – $4 extra for most brands of Disposable vapes, but will range $1 – $5
- $7 extra for a 30mL bottle of Nic Salts
- $10 extra for 60mL bottle of E-Liquid
When does this happen?
The Excise Tax on all E-liquid Products takes effect on October 1st, 2022, with a grace period until December 31st, 2022. We are allowed to continue the sale of all older, non Tax Sticker products in inventory up until December 31st at the normal pricing. We have stocked up on lots of non Tax Sticker product inventory, hoping to give you the maximum amount of time to save on the new tax, but certain Flavours/Brands will run out of non Tax Sticker inventory faster than others.
(*Vuse Customers - As of October 1st, 2022 the new tax will go into effect, which means that the price of Pods will increase by $2 per pack. The tax will have no impact on devices and accessories.)
We are going to be trying our best to provide our customers with the best prices possible in light of the new changes, and feel it’s important to let everyone know that new prices should be expected to trickle into the product mix starting in October.
For consumers, there’s still some time before the tax takes effect, so you might want to consider stocking up on your Fav E-Liquids, Disposables, and Pods non Tax Stickered products while you can.
